IVCH receives approval for building expansion

Posted by wlpo on January 14, 2010

A green light for a $16 million construction project at Illinois Valley Community Hospital.   The Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board has given the hospital a Certificate of Need, clearing the way for the hospital to move forward with a building addition.

Hospital officials announced last May plans to add a couple floors onto their east addition to house their obstetrics and intensive care units along with space for mechanical systems.   The new OB unit will have 10 rooms, a nursery and surgical suite.  The new ICU will have four new rooms larger than the current ICU rooms.
