Two injured after crash that cut power to some homes in Peru

A day after a crash in Peru, two remain hospitalized in fair condition. 

Stephen Christopherson and Jacob Parola of La Salle were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after police say a car driven by Christopherson went through several yards, hit a parked car, and hit a power pole early Sunday.

An investigation into the crash began minutes before 6am when someone in the area of 7th and Putnam Streets called the police to report a power outage. 

An officer found the crashed car.  The Peru Fire Department had to work to remove them from the car.

A state police accident reconstructionist is assisting Peru Police with the investigation.
