Pet crematory proposed in Ottawa

Posted by wlpo on January 7, 2010

The corner of Route 6 and Boyce Memorial Drive in Ottawa could soon be home to a pet crematory.

The Ottawa City Council this week approved a conditional use permit for Bill Byczynski to open a crematory.  Byczynski says he has talked to neighbors and told them there will be no odor or visible emissions from the crematory oven.  He thinks he’ll do one or two cremations a week.

The EPA still needs to approve the crematory.
