No More Texting While Driving

Yesterday was the day where the new texting ban while driving took effect in Illinois.

Illinois is now one of 19 states that makes it unlawful to send or receive texts while driving.  You can still text if you’re pulled off on the shoulder or stuck in traffic or at a train crossing.

Selling A School Referendum

The superintendent of Ottawa Elementary School District is hitting the campaign trail next week.

Craig Doster will be at Ottawa City Hall twice talking about the upcoming tax referendum to build a new Central Elementary.  On Tuesday night, Doster will be at the Ottawa City Council meeting and give a presentation during the public comment part of the meeting.  On Thursday morning, he’ll be back at the city hall with a press conference at 7:30 in the morning to talk about the proposed new school.
