Christmas Even ambulance call leads to an arrest

It was a not-so silent night at a home in Spring Valley on Christmas Eve.  A man faces aggravated battery and obstructing charges after police say he kicked and bit a cop. 

An ambulance was called to Eduardo Ramos’s home Thursday night.  Police were called to help.  Police say Ramos lashed out at an officer, kicking and biting his leg.

Ramos was taken to St. Margaret’s Hospital and was arrested after being released for the next morning.

Crash leaves two with minor injuries

Minor injuries after a crash on Route 18.  Police say a woman lost control on the ice and hit a tree. 

          It happened Sunday afternoon a couple of miles east of Route 251.  Ellen Grenning of Buffalo Grove and Benjamin Kopel of Fox Lake were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator for treatment.
