Crash Kills Ottawa Man

A rural Ottawa man is dead after a three car accident Tuesday night.

41 year old Shane Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Route 71 just northeast of Ottawa.  Three other people were taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital.  Their names weren’t released.

The crash is under investigation by the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office and La Salle County Coroner’s Office.

Seneca Teen Burned During Bonfire

A 17 year old boy from Seneca was burned after an apparent explosion during a bonfire.

Brandon Myers was flown to the Burn Unit at Loyola Medical Center after an incident late Saturday near his home.  The hospital won’t release a condition report because of privacy laws.  He reportedly received second and third-degree burns.

Morris firefighters responded to the initial call just before 10 Saturday night.  The bonfire was already out when they arrived.

Wind And Cold Weather Now The Issue

A Winter Weather Advisory continues until six tonight for much of north central Illinois.

A couple inches of snow could fall today and whatever falls will get blown around with wind gusts in the 40 mile per hour range.

The wind chill tonight will also in the -15 range.
