Murder For Hire Case In Ottawa Delayed

Posted by wlpo on December 5, 2009

A woman from Ottawa that’s accused of trying to have her husband killed probably won’t go to trial until next year.

28 year old Christina Dent was supposed to start her trial Monday on a charge of solicitation of murder for hire.  However, a mental report just arrived this week so lawyers agreed to put off a trial.  There will be another status hearing on December 17th.

Dent was arrested in June after an undercover cop set up a meeting with her on the north side of Ottawa.  The cop was acting like a hitman and after getting paid, he arrested Dent.

Dent was allegedly offering seven thousand dollars to kill her husband.  Investigators say they found out about her plans after she spilled the beans to a neighbor.
