Felony theft charge for Mendota man

A man wanted for stealing something was picked up at his home.  Police Friday morning arrested Luis Flores of Mendota on a La Salle County Warrant for class three felony theft.  He was taken to the county jail with his bond set at $25,000.

Utica hosts “Christmas in the Village”

          Utica is jumping into the spirit of the season.  “Christmas in the Village” is from 1:30pm until 5:30pm Sunday.

Things to do include pictures with Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus, a barber shop quartet, carriage rides, and children’s activities.  There’s a chili tasting and tree lighting ceremony.

It’s all at the Utica Township Community Building.  Admission is free but they would like you to bring something to donate to the local food pantry.
