Man wanted for mob action and aggravated battery arrested

man wanted for aggravated battery and mob action was picked up in Mendota.

          Police arrested Salvador Arteaga of Mendota early Wednesday morning on the warrant.  He was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Lights parade returns to Ottawa

They’re wasting no time getting into the Christmas spirit in Ottawa.  The annual Festival of Lights is 6pm Friday at Washington Square Park.

          The countdown to the lighting of the park is at 6:45pm.

Saturday morning Santa’s House opens at the corner of Jackson and LaSalle Streets.  You can see live reindeer by Santa’s House from 10am until 11am.  Carolers will be performing from 11am until 2pm.

Firefighter injured during fire in Dana

A trailer fire in Dana sent a firefighter to the hospital.  The fire happened Wednesday afternoon.  La Salle County Sheriff’s Deputies say a Dana Firefighter was injured and had to be taken to St. James Hospital in Pontiac for treatment.  He was later released.

          The sheriff’s department, Dana Fire, and State Fire Marshall’s office are investigating the blaze.
