County Hopes To Cut Down On Strays

Get ready to start paying more money if you have a non-neutered dog.
The Animal Parks Committee of the La Salle County Board yesterday voted to establish a split-fee system for dog registration. The fee will be voted on by the entire county board later this month.
Under the proposal, license fees for dogs not spayed or neutered would be doubled to 20 for a year and 60 dollars for three years. Fees for dogs that are spayed or neutered would be 10 dollars for one year and 30 dollars for three years. The fees are in line with what neighboring counties charge.
