The rare bids are being chaperoned by Operation Migration.  Joe Duff is with the group leading them with four ultra-light aircrafts.  He says when they arrive in Somonauk depends on the weather. They spent Friday in Winnebago County near Pecatonica.

Duff says they started on their journey October 16 and so far, are ahead of schedule.  They made a stop in La Salle County last year.  That trip took 88 days.

Posted by wlpo on November 7, 2009

Pavement work at the intersection of Bucklin and Third Streets in La Salle continues into next week.

The southbound lanes of Bucklin between 3rd and 4th Streets will be closed starting Monday as workers replace the detector loops for the traffic lights.

That’s expected to take a couple of days.  After they finish the southbound lanes, they’ll switch to the northbound lanes, blocking off Bucklin between 2nd and 3rd.
