OHS teachers and board meeting Sunday

Posted by wlpo on October 17, 2009

The end to the Ottawa High School teacher’s strike could be near.  After meeting for 10 hours Friday, the teacher’s union and school board are meeting at 5pm Sunday.

Union officials say progress was made Friday night.   The teachers are saying that if they can’t reach a deal with Sunday’s meeting, the Board of Education should agree to binding arbitration.   They say that would allow for school Monday.

For people not involved in the negotiations, there’s a silent vigil is in front of the high school starting at 5pm.
