The increase will come in two parts, the first of which will likely show up during the next billing cycle. The second increase will likely come next May.
The average customer uses about 6,000 gallons of water a month, costing them roughly $18 a month. After the first increase, they can expect to pay at least $21. After the second increase, they’ll be paying $26.
The money raised from the increase will go to pay for a new waste water treatment plant, a study for combine sewer separation and other water and sewer projects.
