Motorcyclist Sent To Hospital

A biker from Ottawa was hospitalized over the weekend.

Mark Prince was thrown from his Harley Saturday afternoon after Howard Kaplan of Chicago apparently turned into Prince on Columbus Street in downtown Ottawa. Kaplan was given a ticket for making an improper turn.

Prince was taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital. The hospital doesn’t release condition reports.

Exchange students speak in La Salle

High school is tough enough; imagine attending classes in a different country.
An exchange student from Belgium will be talking about her experiences and her country during a presentation Thursday.
Pauline Nyssen will be speaking at the Lock 16 Visitor Center at 7pm.
Also speaking will be Sarah Holdcraft of La Salle. She stayed with Nyssen’s family in Belgium.

Teen arrested for threat

Aggravated assault was the charge for a teen police say threatened his mother with a gun.
Police were called to a home in Dana Sunday evening. Joshua Bryant was arrested and taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Memory Walk raises over $21,000

Stormy weather didn’t stop the Memory Walk from raising over $21,000. The fundraiser for the Alzheimers Association was Sunday afternoon at Baker Lake. There was also a 5K run in La Salle Saturday morning.
