67 year old Ronald Broyles was killed last night in a fire at his trailer on the east end of Streator.
Investigators says Broyles was home alone at the time of the fire but they don’t think the cause is suspicious. The State Fire Marshall’s Office is trying to find out the cause of the late night fire at 1510 East Elm Street. The fire was called in by a neighbor at around 11:30.

How important is it that the City of La Salle belongs to the local chamber of commerce?
It’s time for the city to renew their membership with the Illinois Valley Area Chamber and alderman are considering if it’s worth the money now that the city has an economic development director.
They discussed renewing their membership at their last meeting but decided to hold off on a decision.
Someone from IVAC will be talking to the council during tonight’s regular meeting at 7pm.
