Addition at Mendota grade school almost complete

Posted by wlpo on August 5, 2009

New shiny floors and a cafeteria and gym are some of the things elementary students in Mendota will find at the start of the new school year.
The final details are being completed in the two-story addition to Lincoln School. The district decided to add-on to the building to ease overcrowding at another grade school.
Marcia Burress is the superintendent. She says the construction has be running ahead of schedule. Floors are being finished up this week along with work on the fire alarm system.
A wet spring has delayed work on the additions geothermal heating and air conditioning system, but Burress doesn’t think it will be a problem.
Teachers will be moving in next week. Students go back on August 24.
