Water Bills Going Up In Peru

Posted by wlpo on August 4, 2009

Peru is the latest city to approve water and sewer rate increases as a way to afford projects using federal stimulus money.

The city council last night approved a two-part increase that would raise the average bill from 28 dollars to 38 dollars by next May. You will see the first rate increase in September.

The increased revenue will be enough to pay back the loan for a sewer project.
