Prison Time For Punching Cop

Posted by wlpo on August 1, 2009

Even though he apparently said he was sorry, a La Salle teen was given prison time today for punching a police officer.

19 year old Nicholas Puyear was given three and a half years in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to aggravated battery to a peace officer. He’s already in prison for violating probation on a 2006 residential burglary charge. Puyear will get credit for 91 days served in jail.

Puyear was arrested in May for the aggravated battery charge after he punched a La Salle police officer in the leg. The officer was responding to a battery call and said Puyear was drunk.
