IVCC Coming To Ottawa

Posted by wlpo on July 4, 2009

Officials with Illinois Valley Community College and the city of Ottawa are staying hush on where they plan to put a satellite campus.

What is known is that officials with the college and city are having a press conference Monday at nine in Ottawa at the soon to be announced location of the IVCC satellite campus. Media outlets like AM 1220 WLPO will be told of the campus location Monday morning before the press conference.

At their last meeting, the IVCC board hinted that they were finalizing a four-year lease for a downtown building. The city’s apparently offered to waive the first year of the lease to allow IVCC to spend that money on marketing the campus.

College officials hope to begin offering classes in Ottawa next fall.
