New fire engine on the way for Ottawa FD

Posted by wlpo on June 17, 2009

Ever wish you had your own fire truck as a kid? You can have one today if you want to fork over $395,000.
The Ottawa City Council agreed to pay that much last night for a new fire engine. The truck becomes the lead engine at the south side fire station. The fire department isn’t replacing any of its existing trucks, just adding to their fleet.
Fire Chief Jim Duback says the city has an agreement to pay the truck off over five years. It’s supposed to be delivered by early next year.
