Sex offender given prison time for not registering

Not telling police where he lives is getting a local teenager in more trouble than pleading guilty to molesting a girl.
Eric Janzen moved to Streator from Ottawa recently but didn’t tell police. Since he’s a registered sex offender, he was given three years in prison for not letting police know about his move.
Janzen was sentenced to four months probation earlier this year after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a child. The incident involved a 13 year old girl in Ottawa. Janzen was 19 at the time.

Ottawa police arrested Sims Thursday night on a warrant after finding him at a tavern. They say he had 36 baggies of crack-cocaine when they found him.
He’s charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He’s being held in the La Salle County Jail.
