New City Attorney Costing More

In Spring Valley, city council members last night were reviewing the fees to have Tom Tonozzi as the city attorney. They ended up approving a contract, but not without combing through the numbers.
Tonozzi is charging more than the previous city attorney, Jim Andreoni, raising some questions with council members. Tonozzi will get paid 600 dollars a month compared to the 250 dollars Andreoni charged. Tonozzi says he’s charged the city less than what he typically charges.
He’ll also receive 160 dollars an hour for additional work. The council didn’t accept his proposal to charge 200 an hour for what he called “complex cases.”
