Sen. Dahl says nothing done during Sunday session

Posted by wlpo on May 18, 2009

Working on Sunday has become common for a lot of jobs, but usually not state senators.

The Illinois State Senate met for about 20 minutes Sunday evening, but didn’t vote on any bills.

State Senator Gary Dahl, a republican, says it was an opportunity for democrats to get paid for being in Springfield. Dahl didn’t attend the session and estimates only three republicans did.

The senators who attended will each receive a $132 per diem. Two weeks remain in the scheduled legislative session.
