The lawsuits filed by Spring Valley’s former police chief against the new mayor are being dropped.
Mike Miroux’s attorney Randy Comba told city attorney Tom Tonozzi Friday he would be filing motions to dismiss the cases.
Miroux filed two suits against Mayor Cliff Banks last Friday in Bureau County Circuit Court. Since then, the suits had been moved to La Salle County.
The issue was Banks appointed deputy chief Kevin Sangston as police chief, removing Miroux. It happened after Banks was sworn into office last month.
