Oglesby Talking About Suing Former Chief

The Oglesby City Council could be turning the tables on a former police chief. The council has been talking behind closed doors about filing a civil lawsuit against former Police Chief Tom Martin over apparent missing money. According to minutes from recent closed session meetings, almost five thousand dollars is unaccounted for from the city’s Drug Traffic Prevention Fund. Also another four thousand dollars was apparently spent by the city for a Cadillac without the title being switched over from Martin to the city. Martin sued the city a couple years ago when he wasn’t reappointed chief. The sides settled out of court.
